-
SOPHIE BEASLEY
2025 + Human development and family studies
Owner of Cozy Canvas Corner
I want my art to express the free side of creativity; to represent that art and creations have no definition, and your creations can be whatever you want them to be. When people see my art, I want them to feel inspired to create something of their own because they should know there is no right or wrong answer.
-
GABBY DEMARCO
2027 + Advertising and Public Relations and Psychology

I mainly hope to use my art to spread happiness and positivity to people. If my art can put a smile on your face or makes your day just a little brighter, then I have done my job!
FIBER ARTS
-
SHREYA GUNDAM
2026 + Computer Science
Owner of Once Upon a Scrap
My products are made out of perfectly good fabric scraps which were once destined for landfill. In 2018 alone, almost 17 million tons of textiles ended up in wastelands. By repurposing the fabric scraps to create fashionable accessories, I hope to minimize the amount of fabric waste being produced and promote sustainability in style.
-
PAYTON WILKINS
2026
Owner of Crochted by Payton
I hope my art will bring others as joy as I get from designing and creating. Crocheting is my happy place. It takes my mind off anything negative, and I want my stuffed animals to provide that same sense of calmness. I also want to help others stay true to their inner child. You’re never too old to stop loving stuffed animals!

Since I tend to crochet while at work or in class, my business and my passion for crochet is always something that’s a fun talking point because I’m always being asked what I’m working on. I think the overall campus environment has impacted my journey as well, UNC really does have a small town feel where everyone somehow knows everyone.

Uniqueness in my crafts is also important to me, I love that I can make jewelry that people haven’t seen before, and I hope to make something for everyone so that no matter your interests or style, you can find something special here. I hope my creations help those who wear them to feel imaginative, fun, and expressive, just like the fantasy stories & styles I love. -
ANNA RICHARDSON
2027 + English & Comparative Literature
Owner of Whaletailbeads
Taking the leap of faith has been the most challenging thing for me. In creating a new business, there’s no way to know whether or not you’ll succeed, so spending the time and money creating products is always a risk. I hope, though, that it’ll have been a risk well-worth taking.
-

I hope to help people know that if you think something is cool, whether it be a random idea that popped into your head or something you saw on pinterest, use it to inspire what you do. Someday you will find something that you are passionate about creating, and then you can use that to keep people thinking creatively.
